[Personal Post] - Today you turn seven...

[Personal Post] - Today you turn seven (7)

Today is bittersweet.

I find myself sitting back often, more than usual, thinking...wondering...remembering all the time that seems to have past in a blink of an eye, a turn of a key, a flash right in front of me...only to find myself talking, laughing, loving this amazing girl, this bright, cheerful, sweet, amazing girl, who is not so little any longer.

KJ age 1
Seven years have past since the day you were born

I will never forget that day.

I might tell you this story for the rest of my life, every birthday that passes, you will hear this story, the day the world gained an old soul, a truly special baby girl who's purpose in this world is nothing more than for greatness.

It was a cold morning. I was still working, early in the morning. I was getting packed up to head out for another day of work when lone behold, while reaching down to grab a beverage from beside the fridge...my water decided to break.

OK, so it was a moment of...what the heck just happened...and oh I guess I have to head to the hospital- but wait...after I eat this pop tart because lord knows it will be a while until I get to eat again.

KJ age 3
Yes. I ate the pop tart. The whole thing before I waddled my way up the stairs to wake up your panicked father, who jumped up, grabbed his clothes, my bag and was on the move like the house was on fire. Where I was like, um, whoa, I have phone calls to make, duh!

A few minutes later, we were on our way to the hospital, me feeling like I literally peed myself! It's all good though, no pain...at all.

KJ age 2
Of course, it was more panic when we reached the hospital, and no, not from your Mom. I was calm, cool and pain free. I was ready.

Then the room came, the waiting..who am I kidding, it really was not long...by the time they induced to the time you came into the world was maybe a matter of a few hours...maybe! My guess is that you were just as ready! (Oh, and by the way...we were only at week 38- over achiever!)

Finally, at 1:58 p.m. on February 4, 2009, we welcomed our Baby Girl, KJ into the bright, new world.

To say that I was amazed is an understatement. You were perfect. And from the moment Daddy held you, he was smitten!

KJ age 3
Grandparents gathered. It was your birthday after all.

The day turned to night. You were such a wonderful newborn.  Night turned to day, still smooth sailing. This stayed throughout your first year. Smooth sailing!

This was the day that my life changed, for the better. I had my purpose in this world.

Sure, it's been seven years...a lot has changed (like adding sissy!) but I can speak for Dad and I, you have already made us so proud. You have a big heart, you love with all you have and you are becoming such a wonderful person.

Friday night with the KIDS... "Would you rather?"

Friday, January 29th, 2016

We made it to another FRIDAY...yea!  My oldest (Ms. Six) was cheering this morning when she awoke (in which she informed me that she did not sleep a wink last night) and boy was she ready to get this day over with!

The school day came and went...everyone met back at home after four (4) and dinner was on the table by five (5).

This prompted table talk, in which we started with a game of "Would you rather" first grade style!

Thank goodness for the internet...because this Mama pulled up some impromptu questions, (seriously, thank goodness!) and we were full of chit chat through our entire meal! (no TV needed!)

See the questions here:

 :

I would like to give a SHOUT OUT to
because that is where I found this handy...dandy sheet, which was awesome with my four (4) and six (6) year olds!

It engaged great conversation, giggles, thoughts and belly laughs all around our table!

I encourage you to give this a try with your kiddos and share your comments on the conversations they start!

Mom:         Would you rather take a bath in ice cubes (brrr) or tomato soup?

Ms. Six:      Hands down tomato soup and I would want a straw so I could eat too! (um, gross!)

Ms. Four:    I want ice cubes because I think it would be hot outside and that would cool me off. (hmmm...it is only 33 degrees out...but she must mean during the summer?)
