How to find your PASSION

Free Fierce Printable Quote - Dwell Beautiful:

At the end (and at the beginning) of the romantic-comedy, Pretty Woman, a man crosses the street and shouts to no one in particular, “Welcome to Hollywood! Everybody comes here has a dream. What’s your dream?”

When was the last time someone asked you about your dream?

Do you remember your response?

I now ask you:
What’s your passion?”

How many times has someone asked you
that?

If you think back to our youth, think about what the schools provide us... calendars/planners, which are essentially tools to help them stay organized or keep information given to them to meet objectives for class, right.  But, how many students use these same tools to:

  • Empower them to articulate their dreams?
  • Pursue passions?
  • Develop personal goals?
  • Or, even simply arrange activities within their day to align these goals with said passions?

What happens when we have a way to organize but lack the way to use it when we grow into adulthood, equipped with knowledge and skills to meet EVERYONE ELSE's GOALS but our own. #truestory

From here, if we think about our fears...the deepest fears we can have is that we are inadequate, but in reality the deepest fears that we actually have is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is said that the light is what frightens us most. That undying question, "Who am I supposed to be?" when we mean to ask "Who are we not to be?"

When we start to discover passion within ourselves, we can hit a road block due to the difficultly of that feeling of being HAPPY.  Life transitions can forge a could of discern within us and make us question paths, motives and cause us to be unable to move forward entirely.

Here are some steps to help find your passion...launch a new beginning and fill your life with meaning and purpose:

  • Create a Vision Board.  A vision board is a personal display of pictures and phrases of ideas, experiences, and desires that you wish to experience. When you surround yourself with inspiring words and images, you become more welcome to new ideas and exiting possibilities in your life. I call this the "Happy Place!" Awesome2
  • Make a list.  What do you like to do?  What is enjoyable?  Think about what you did as a child, as childhood memories remind us of all the things we loved to do and caused great joy.
  • Write Positive Affirmations.  Find the positive by focusing on the intention of what you want to experience. Affirmations are always stated in present tense, they are personal and specific to you.
  • Begin a gratitude journal. A daily gratitude practice fills you with joy and shifts your focus from what you do not have to appreciation for all of the gifts in your life. What talents do you possess? What personal skills would you like to sharpen?
  • Record your passions in a notebook. How do you want to make a difference in the world?  What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? Keep a notebook near your bed or in your purse. Wonderful opportunities or new ways of doing things often unexpectedly arrive to us in random thoughts. Make notes about ways you can pursue your passions.
  • Do something you love every day. You may not have the resources to quit your job or abandon responsibilities to pursue your passion. Focus on the time you have; not the time you do not have within your day.
  • Network with others. Find a group with members who share your passions and interests. Many groups and organizations have well-organized and detailed directories that promote special events and attract new members. Meet-up groups offer opportunities for like-minded individuals with shared passions to gather together. Local libraries, local community centers, and on-line networking groups provide information and resources that connect individuals to inspire and motivate one another.
  • Enroll in classes.  Leaf through course catalogs and pay attention to the course titles that capture your interests. Colleges, local community centers, and libraries often offer a variety of courses and workshops that allow you to explore your passions at no or limited costs.

We can not allow others or circumstance to steer us away from pursuing our passions. Make a commitment to yourself and your passion and don't lose sight of that

pumpkin bars

The bars can be made crust-less if you want!

Pumpkin Cheesecake Dream Bars

    pumpkin cream cheese bars
  • 12 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 additional tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice or additional cinnamon
  • 1 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp cornstarch

  1. Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper and your crust of choice unless you’d prefer crust-less bars. Set aside.
  2. Bring your cream cheese to room temperature or gently warm until easily stir-able.
  3. Preheat oven to 350 F. If you have an extra baking pan of any size to spare, fill it halfway with water and place on the lower rack of your oven. (This step can be skipped; it just helps prevent cracking.)
  4. Blend together all ingredients until just blended—don’t over blend, which would introduce air into the bars and cause cracking later on.
  5. Pour the batter into the first prepared 8×8 pan, smooth out evenly, and place on the middle rack of your oven.
  6. Bake 25 minutes, then leave the oven door closed but turn off the oven and let the bars sit in the turned-off oven for another 5 minutes.
  7. Take out the still-under baked bars and let them sit at room temperature for an hour. (Don’t skip this, as putting them straight from the oven to the fridge would cause—you guessed it!—cracking.)
  8. Then refrigerate at least 4 hours, during which time they will firm up quite a bit. Slice into bars, and store leftovers in the fridge or even in the freezer if you want to thaw them another day.

PERSONAL POST: A great day for a PARK n' SHINE... (2015)

28th Annual PARK n' SHINE

Early Pic!

Today we gathered up the kids and headed out in the "old car" to the 28th annual Park n' Shine
It was a "cool" day for the cruise across town!

We loaded up the family, a little picnic lunch, and a car full of enthusiastic travelers...eh, kinda!

Let's see...Hubby only got two hours of sleep (he worked the night before).... the girls were TIRED...because they had to get up entirely TOO early for a SUNDAY...and Mama had to get up even earlier than the FAM to get things ready to GO and make sure we did not forget anything, especially since we were going to SOCCER for Miss Six's first game right, smack, dab in the middle of the day

They are THRILLED...Trust Me

But, with a little grumpy spell, the car was running good, we got her clean, made it to the show, had a hot dog and a Police Officer bought our girls Fries, which was super nice..because this Mom and Dad do not carry cash and only had enough $$ for the dogs (opps!)

Now it is TIME to pay it forward because to be honest...me and Hubby were SHOCKED by this wonderful act of kindness!

Our 1963 Impala - Cleaning her up!

SEE,,,I promise they are having
a great time!

Our day was going great.
The girls were having a blast. Miss Six even had her eyes on an older Nomad that she was just "in love" with!
Silly Girl!

Then the time came when we had to exit to make it to the Soccer Game...

Well, we are terrible parents...we were blocked in, as it was kind of the middle of the show.

Unfortunately, we had to "SKIP" soccer.

Eh.

Miss Six was super understanding..she even wanted to stay at the car show because she was having "a really good time".

Sorry Soccer...

But, next weekend is a double game weekend, so maybe that will lessen the guilt!

Friends showed up.  They brought their kids

The world was just right!

We had a blast.

What a great FAMILY DAY!

Wish they all could be like this.

The time came to head back a crossed town. We picked up some chicken to BBQ and got to work!

After a nice dinner (we have been eating at the formal dining room table often) we had friends over and got to playing with the four wheeler's and go cart

Needless to say, fresh air (although a bit chilly) and lots of play today made this one a great one.

Until next weekend!

Because you know it's that time of the year....All Football talk...ALL the TIME.. (I'm already SO over it!)

Enjoy our day in pictures
(yes, I got a little camera happy with the car! Love our car...after fourteen years it is still building so many great memories!).

She is gleaming!

Looking Mean!

Love the SHINE.

She is so funny!

Sitting Pretty and could not resist the B & W - really adds something SPECIAL!

Slammed!

She cleans up so nice!

We had a GREAT DAY!
