Book More Clients, Business Support, Lead Generation, Sales
by: Kel Amstutz
When you run a service based business, there is not surprise that you need to have leads and clients, right.
It is very important that you have a lead generation system(s) in place. We always need prospects and people to talk to...we need people to sell our services to, right?
OK. Now, take a breath, because it can sound overwhelming, but I am here to let you know that it is actually really fun, I promise!
So, let's pretend (Yes...I am a Mom here!) that we have a super fun store front (like Chip & Joanna Gaines, OK) and there are tons of people pouring through the old barn doors with even more outside waiting to get into this mystical, magical place. People are filling baskets, carts, arms full of all the wonderful decor items you have to offer and the cash registers are going a mile a minute with transaction after transaction and people are happy and talking and excited and amazed all at the same time.
Do you have a solid picture?
Well, this is what lead gen feels like to me!
What we are doing for our business, online, is filling up our baskets and carts and checking out wonderful, lovable, potential clients in place of those shiny, fun objects!
Yes, this does sound WAY TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, right! Well, in all honesty, I am a FIRM BELIEVER that you should ONLY work with people who light you up (much like my analogy did) and put a HUGE smile on your face.
After all, life is TOO short to work with miserable people.
OK, so you want to know HOW we fill our carts and baskets, right. I am realizing that now, this is kind of a weird analogy because it's like a store and all, but bear with me!
I am going to assume that you have a business already in place. I am also assuming that you are confident in your brand, you are confident in your services and you are confident in your offering packages. So, once that foundation is in place you are more than ready to start designing lead generation funnels to propel your income forward.
Personally, I am in love with the Contactually.com tool and they literally call the segments of leads "buckets"- kind of like a cart, or basket, right!
So you want to have a few different buckets, once you begin organizing your leads. If you are going to be simple, have an excel spreadsheet- this is fine at the beginning but make sure you have multiple lists.
One of your list will be considered your "Hot Leads" list and another might be your "Cold Leads" list, maybe one will be your "Partners" list, etc.
Those of us who actually keep track of our potential client prospects will DO MUCH BETTER #truth than those who do not track nor acknowledge these potentials.
So, set up a CRM system. #trustme
Create a bucket for all prospects, contacts, and people that now live in your Facebook, email and all other platforms.
So, where do we find prospects and leads?
- Online
- Blog Threads
- Facebook/Social Media followings
- Fitness Classes
- Conferences
- Networking Events
- Children's school
- Hand out those business cards!
Anyone is a prospect!
Anyone can know a potential prospect or ideal client!
They key in business is to interact with people, especially if you need to make money ASAP. Why? Because people are where money comes from!
Get the conversations going!
Lead generation can happen anywhere and just from talking with strangers! If you set up systems online that are on autopilot, lead generation can happen this route too!
Let's break it down - if you WANT to MASTER LEAD GENERATION and STAY ORGANIZED -- you have to make sure that you are capturing ALL of your prospects in LEADS into your CRM system!
That
means you need to put their name, phone numbers and email address into
your CRM so that you have a little file of every single person. This sounds CRAZY, right? Well, it's not. This is seriously the system that keeps me BOOKED solid with the clients that I love!
Keep track of ALL of the people that you speak with, keep track of what their needs are, and make sure that you are organized with all of these prospects and leads and contacts in your own CRM, excel file or as I mentioned, Contractually.com.
Basically, we just touched the top of the iceburg when it comes to sales, lead generation and business development.
So, I have a question for you all- What has been the MOST helpful thing for you in Lead Generation and Sales?
